Sleep Tips for Daylight Savings

Each year we move into Spring by turning our clocks ahead one hour. While we gain one more hour of daylight, we miss out on that precious hour of sleep. Everyone values their sleep, especially those already sleep-deprived parents with babies or children who are early risers. And, while getting enough sleep is important for everyone, the Monday after the time change can feel like the longest day ever. 

There’s no need to dread the typical daylight savings hangover.  A few simple actions can help ease the transition, and help you get a better night’s sleep every night. Try taking a cat nap (no longer than 20 minutes), exercising during the day and committing to 7-8 hours of sleep each night. While these tips are always essential for a good night’s sleep, they are even more important during this time change transition.
